#WINE FOR MAC DISPLAY ISSUE MAC#Not sure how this may help with the WoT Mac Wrapper which uses WINE 1.7.22 and I have yet to find a way to install/use any other version of WINE for the wrapper. Perhaps wine wrapper 1.0.30 and new dx11 is doing flickering issue and new version fix it!Īs for Step 1 - what bottle are you using? Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows XP? I can't try it now, but i'll do when arrive at home. #WINE FOR MAC DISPLAY ISSUE INSTALL#Everything runs perfectly so far.ġ) create manually a new bottle (32-bit or 64-bit, both run equally well)Ģ) set wine version to: wine-staging 0.9.11 (from POL repository or from staging repository)ģ) install vcrun2012 (yes, only vcrun2012 and nothing else)Ĥ) set options in POL "Display" tab required, depending on your hardware (see what worked previously)ĥ) in wine options ("Configue wine", "Staging" tab enable CSMTĦ) install the game using the online installer or just move an existing game directory into the new bottle, creating the shortcuts for the game and for the launcher likewise move the the same way or set all in-game option anew.ħ) a redundant step: run the game with -clientGraphicsAPI d3d9 command line parameter (not really necessary for me)Ĩ) if cef_browser_process.exe misbehaves, just rename it into something else (drive_c/Games/World_of_Tanks/res/cef/cef_browser_process.exe) Before you read it, i know is about playing WoT on linux, not mac, but issues with flickering screen running wine think it's same for us with our macs.ĭebian Jessie 3.16.0-4-amd64, Nvidia 361.45.11. The end date for this is 31 December 2016. #WINE FOR MAC DISPLAY ISSUE PRO#Hopefully you still have the Applications Install Disc 2 as you will need it to boot from to run Apple Hardware Test since you are running OS X 10.6.8.įinally you may want to check if your hardware is part of the MacBook Pro Repair Extension Program for Video Issues. You may also try using Apple Hardware Test to see if there are issues with the hardware. Setting the game graphics to Standard and lowest available settings in Standard will most likely correct this issue. Of course I could be wrong and there could be something wrong with the game/wrapper/card but this is the most common reason that I've seen for the mac clients anyways. You will probably be able to bump things up a little from there but start with everything on the absolute lowest and go from there. Either way, DEFINITELY make sure you are using the Standard renderer (not improved) and use the Lowest preset. When you updated the Mac wrapper did you have to reset all your settings? It may have bumped your graphics up to medium. Your most likely running out of video ram (or at least thats what happened to me when I do). If you green-button the WOT window to different sizes, it "fixes" the issue when in garage for another ten seconds but does nothing if you're in-game. It's running an older OS 10.6.8 and I thought updating to the latest might help but wanted to see how many others here are affected before I do something like that because I've heard very mixed reviews on the latest OS.sorry for tangent.Īnyway, I've tried different screen sizes, resolutions, etc. I'm running WOT on a mid 2011 Macbook pro with an intel processor and NVIDIA graphics card. If you try a game, it's even worse as most of the game is blue-gray and you get snapshots of what's going on. I've gotten the game to where it works, but after about ten seconds in the garage, the screen starts to do the disco ball effect where the flickering takes over and you can't see anything. Same story, 9.15 broke everything, yada, yada.
